1979 Honda PA50 Camino Model ’50DXVL’
Reg GAH 439T in Showroom Condition
This is the nicest Camino I’ve seen – and it has only done 3979 miles from new (documentation to verify).
This 49cc 2-stroke automatic moped is in excellent order throughout. It retains its original bill of sale, ‘owners manual’ (which is actually just a glorified leaflet), document pouch and service booklet.
The service sheet is stamped for its 1500 mile and 3000 mile services, the latter occurring in 1987.
The 1988 MOT records 3721 miles and the 199o MOT shows 3854 miles.
The current mileage is 3979 miles.
The original receipt, of 4th June, 1979, shows that the top box was supplied with the Honda (it cost an extra £15.18).
The total purchase price, including 8% VAT, £5 road tax and £13 insurance, was £264.54.
There’s a V5C Registration document. The original owner apparently took it off the road in 1991. The previous owner purchased it two years ago. I’m the third owner.
The paintwork is in excellent original condition, it is first rate mechanically too, and is MOT’d until May 2010
A Honda Camino is an ideal vintage starter bike. Spares are cheap and easy to find. It’s a reliable machine and a good bike for local commutes as well as summer shows and rallies.
If my daughter were old enough to ride a moped, for sheer practicality – and with its superb original condition and wonderful provenance – this is precisely the machine I’d give her for everyday riding.
